A girl was killed while her brother and father were injured by a kite string near Scheme Mor on Sunday.
According to police, Noor, 2, along with her brother and father Ajmal was making her way on a motorcycle near Sabzazar when a chemical-coated string fell on them.
As a result, Noor and his brother were seriously injured and shifted to the Social Security Hospital where Noor died.
Talking to the media, Operations SSP Rana Abdul Jabbar suspended three patrolling officers of Sabzazar, Hanjarwal and Iqbal Town and also ordered an enquiry against Sabzazar SHO Sharif Sindhu for not stopping kite flying. He directed police officers to launch a crackdown against kite flying and enforce the ban on it, adding that stern action would also be taken against the SHO.
COMPENSATION:
Taking notice of the incident, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a compensation of Rs 0.5 million for the victim’s family.
