A delegation from the USAID Agribusiness Project led by Derald Smart called on University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha on Friday in which different areas of collaboration were discussed.
USAID Agribusiness Project consultant Dr Hamid Jalil, UVAS Meat Science and Technology department in-charge Dr Muhammad Hayat Jaspal and other officials were also present on the occasion.
The delegation discussed collaboration between the USAID and UVAS for initiating various training programmes for meat industry workers, supervisors and managers. They also discussed initiating projects for training and research on calf-raising.
The VC briefed the delegation on various training programs of the university. He said that the university is producing skilled manpower to meet their rising need in the livestock and allied sectors and industries.
