The Society for Human Rights and Prisoners Aid (SHARP) on Friday organised a one-day training workshop for lawyers on the topic of “Role of legal fraternity in protecting human and refugee rights within prevailing laws and notifications” at HotelCrownPlaza.
On this occasion, different orators gave lectures on the human rights and other relating subjects. In the beginning, Khalid Mehmood gave a detailed introduction of SHARP, after that an international law Professor Salman Kazmi gave a comprehensive and detailed presentation on the fundamental rights of human beings.
UNHCR representative Mr Yasir Khan briefed the gathering about the laws and rights of refugees. Tayyba Rana made the participants aware of foreigners’ act and notifications. The participants of the workshop actively played their roles in the mock court trial.
In the end, the chief guest Judicial Academy Director General Jamshaid Ali appreciated effort of SHARP and congratulated the team for organising this workshop successfully. He further said that such kind of training workshops should be arranged in future also. Certificates were awarded to the participants of the mock trial.
