The Punjab cabinet has approved the proposal for holding local bodies’ elections on a party basis on Saturday.
Media reports said that a meeting of the Punjab government held with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in chair approved the proposal for holding of LB elections on a party basis.
The approval of the cabinet has paved the way for the issuance of an ordinance by the provincial government amending the LB Act 2013, sources said.
