Former president Pervez Musharraf will be questioned by the FIA next week on the charges of abrogating the constitution by declaring a state of emergency on November, 3, 2007.

Media reports said an inquiry team led by Additional Director General (ADG) Khalid Qureshi would visit the residence of Pervez Musharraf next week to carry out an investigation about the aforementioned matter. The former president is not being summoned to the FIA Headquarters due to security concerns.

Sources said the FIA had also sent a letter to the interior secretary for not removing Pervez Musharraf’s name from the ECL so that he was unable to travel abroad and the investigation into the high treason case is not left incomplete.

The FIA is highly concerned that the Ministry of Defence has been unable to provide a record on the Corps Commanders Conference held during Musharraf’s regime despite issuance of several letters.

  1. Though highly unlikely, but if somehow we are able to bring Musharraf to justice the state of Pakistan will be strengthened manifold!

  2. Re previous comments – do you sincerely and honestly believe that the the two previous governments are not more accountable than ex-President Musharraf?
