1122 to the rescue! Rescue DG shapes out emergency plan for Muharram

The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer on Tuesday reviewed all the arrangements regarding emergency services during Muharram that sets in from Wednesday. According to Rescue 1122, he directed all the district emergency officers (DEOs) to remain on high alert and ensure quick response of emergency ambulance, as well as rescue and fire services. “As many as 8500 rescuers would perform duties in different shifts in the Punjab during Muharram and three special monitoring teams under the supervision of Provincial Monitoring Cell (PMC) would monitor rescue activities round the clock,” he explained. Medical technicians and other rescue officials along with 24 ambulances, 11 fire tenders, two rescue vehicles, 5 specialised vehicles and 44 mobile posts would provide medical services to the processions, the DG added. Rescue service points would be set up at Imam Bargah Bhakewal Morr, Samanabad, Niaz Baig Village, Ali Raza Abad, Chungi Amar Sadhu, Kotha Pind, Nishtar Town, H-Block Model Town, Cavalry Ground, Nishat Colony/R.A Bazaar, A-Block Model Town, Batapur Attokey Awan, Adda Shabil Hando Village, Aziz Pully, Lalpul Mughalpura, Islampura, Rang Mahal Chowk, Bhaati Chowk, Imamia Colony Shahdra and Jafria Colony.
