  1. Our common enemies have made it clear that they do not wish to see any alliance between our nations. These acts of terror prove that they are trying their best to discourage us from working together. Our shared will and desire to restore peace in the region has helped us overcome many obstacles and challenges in the last decade. We will not let these acts of terror deter us from achieving our shared objectives in the region. We’ve come a long way in regards to our partnership and realize the importance of staying unified against our common enemies. Those who think that they can break our common desire to succeed are simply mistaken. We repeat what the U.S. state department spokesman said recently: “More broadly, the United States and Pakistan continue to have a vital, shared strategic interest in ending extremist violence so as to build a more prosperous, stable, and peaceful region.”
Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and family of the driver who died in this attack. We hope that his friends and family will find the strength to deal with this tragedy.
