National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Murtaza Abbasi have congratulated the newly-elected chairmen of four committees of the National Assembly.
This message was conveyed to the chairmen by National Assembly Special Secretary Munawar Abbas.
The meetings of National Assembly Standing Committees on Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony, Petroleum and Natural Resources, Interior and Narcotics Control and Water and Power were held separately in the Parliament House on Tuesday to elect their heads.
Lawmakers Abdul Kareem, Bilal Virk, Rana Shamim and Arshad Leghari were unanimously elected the chairmen of Standing Committees on Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony, the Petroleum and Natural Resources, the Interior and Narcotics Control and Water and Power, respectively.
The special secretary conducted the election.
The speaker and the deputy speaker also assured the new chairmen of their cooperation for smooth functioning of the bodies.
The chairmen thanked the members of the committees for reposing confidence and trust in them.
They also assured the members to make all out efforts to come up to their expectations and make the proceedings of the committees meaningful and result-oriented with their cooperation.
