Security meeting condemns drone strike

A security meeting on Saturday condemned the US drone attack that killed Hakeemullah Mehsud and termed it as an attempt to sabotage the peace process.
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani and officials of security and intelligence agencies attended the meeting.
The meeting was given a comprehensive briefing on the law and order situation and security and intelligence agencies were ordered to maintain a security alert and ensure protection of all sensitive places and installations.
The meeting discussed the possible reaction of the TTP who have vowed to avenge the killing and took some important decision.
Sources privy to the meeting said the security agencies were asked to further beef up the security of embassies, consulates and foreign nationals across the country. Foreign diplomats and nationals have been advised to restrict their movement and remain extra vigilant outdoors.
