Electricity shortfall reaches 3220 MW

The shortfall of electricity has reached 3220 mega watt (MW), while electricity production has remained 9630 MW resulting in increase of total load-shedding hours.

Due to the increasing shortfall, the unannounced load-shedding hours have increased manifold.

In urban areas people face 6 to 8 hours load-shedding while in rural areas the power supply cut has reached more than 10 to 14 hours.

The current demand of electricity is 12,850 MW, while hydro power production is 2820 MW; thermal resources produce 1800 MW; production through independent power producers (IIPs) is 5030 MW, which amounts total production of 9630 MW.

The total current shortfall despite the fact that changing weather has decreased the demand of electricity, has reached 3250 MW, claimed National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) authorities.

  3. The current situation is directly because of negligence by Zardari and his twin brother from other parents, Nawaz Sharif when they were in charge of the government since Musharaf left . Both these self serving good for nothing leaders were very busy increasing their personal wealth by money laundering and not paying billions of loan money to the banks. Imran Khan was right when he said, Nawaz Sharif cannot solve people's problem, because he is not interested in people's welfare.

  7. If this is the standard of judging this govt then no wonder we are in dire straits. Two incompetent govts cannot be compared for proficiency. They are the same lot that hates people but loves money. Both were and are highly corrupt and incompetent Zardari and Nawaz are two nincompoops that are destroying us and our economy.

  8. seriously im done…. these corrupt men that we call our leaders are destroying our beloved pakistan. the only possible thing pakistan can do now is to destory itself (which zardari and nawaz are doing a great job at) and then rebuild under the eyes of a great leader…. at rhe moment the only chance for pakistan is for the one and only legend imran khan to come into power but this scenerio is very rare because ppp and pml will just buy the elections cause the have the resources unlike imran khans party

      This Govt is better then previous and they are doing better push the rates back of fuel, electric and other depends on them so that will be automatic decrease.

      For energy problem they are thinking seriously and before your comment give them time

      Because this is not a little problem and short fall is not little (Approximately 3500 MW) in previous 15 years no body think about that so give them 2 to 3 years to prove their promises

      If anybody wants to change himself and do better for Pakistan then don't show him his past Appreciate for better in present and future.

Really it out my range to pay electricity bill. besides I’m facing 11 hour loadshding.ppp govt were the best at least I were able to pay my bills artround ten thousand and now I’m paying more than 25 thousand that is made my mothly budget out of order. Every blue colar is crying but no one ready to care
