India has handed over to five crucial documents to Pakistan, comprising 600 pages of evidence against the seven individuals accused in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
A Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court is conducting a trial against Lakhvi and six of his associates who face charges in the Mumbai terror attacks which left 165 people, including 26 foreigners, dead.
Sources said there were two other documents related to the proceedings of the seven-member Pakistan judicial commission. The Pakistan judicial commission visited Mumbai in September to cross-examine witnesses including the magistrate who had recorded Ajmal Amir Kasab’s confessional statement and review a senior Pakistani public prosecutor’s application for the articles recovered from the terrorists.
Sources said that the Foreign Office would hand over the aforesaid record to the FIA which would be required to submit it to the Anti Terrorism Court before November 6.
FIA sources told that after having judicial record from India, the trial of the case is likely to take place soon.
