Police claimed to have arrested at least 91 suspects during a search operation in Peshawar on Tuesday.
Peshawar has been a target of terrorism over the past two months as bombings in Qissa Khawani Bazar and a church left nearly 200 people dead.
Officials said that during their crackdown the police conducted a house-to-house search in the Bhana Mandi area and raided criminals’ dens in different parts of Peshawar. The police also conducted search missions in neighboring tribal agencies where the Pakistan army has been carrying out an operation against militants loyal to Taliban and al Qaida.
Police arrested 91 suspects, claiming that firearms, including Kalashnikovs, repeaters, G3 rifles, pistols and hundreds of bullets were recovered from them
