Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan on Sunday said that his party would strongly resist the privatisation of state institutions as it would open new avenues of corruption.
Addressing the general council meeting of the National Labour Federation (NLF) at Mansoora he said that the nation had already faced the dire consequences of privatisation.
Dolling out major state institutions would result in massive unemployment and JI would convene an APC in November to take other parties in confidence on the issue and mobilise public opinion against privatization, he added.
The JI Ameer said the PML-N leadership has forgotten their promises after coming to power and has levied new and heavy taxes on the masses on the IMF dictation.
Commenting on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s statement on threatening to stop NATO supplies if drone attacks did not end, Syed Munawar Hasan said such a statement should come from the federal government which had the authority to stop the supplies.
