Azam Hoti says Asfandyar, Afrasiab sold Pashtuns out

Awami National Party senior leaders Azam Khan has leveled serious allegations against ANP chief Asfand Yar Wali Khan and party leader Senator Afrasiab Khattak.

“Soon after coming into power in 2008 general elections, Asfandyar Wali Khan and Afrasiab Khattak held a secret visit of United States in 2009 where he inked a secret agreement with the US,” Senator Azam Khan remarked during a press conference in Peshawar on Monday.

Khan said, “It is the first ever blast and I will soon reveal further blasts against the ANP leaders.”

However, ANP central spokesman Senator Zahid Khan denied the allegations against the party leaders, saying, “He needs to furnish proof or evidences.”

Zahid Khan termed the allegations of Azam Khan “unrealistic and non-serious on the part of an experienced politician”.

He said there was a family problem faced by Azam Khan and the ANP had nothing to do with that. “Azam Khan has already been expelled from the party, therefore, we do not take his statements seriously.”

During the press conference, Azam claimed, “Asfandyar Wali and Afrasiab Khattak with help of Nasimur Rahman (ex-ANP MNA from Mardan) visited the US in 2007 whereas they signed an agreement. The US paid them a huge amount in return for blood of 800 party workers and stalwarts.”

Azam said, “Nasimur Rehman arranged a meeting of Asfandyar and Khattak with Pakistani-origin American national. After the meeting, both of them disappeared and appeared on the 11thday.”

According to the agreement, Azam said, “Khattak agreed to terrorist acts. A huge payment was made to the Taliban through an Arab country. One cheque of Taliban was also handed by Arab country to Afrasiab Khattak.” He however, did not name the country.

Azam held Khattak responsible for the destruction of ANP, saying “both Asfandyar Wali Khan and Afrasiab Khattak have made properties and assets abroad”.

In particular, he mentioned Dubai and Malaysia whereas “Asfandyar Wali Khan has acquired large assets”.

Though he confessed lacking documentary or undeniable evidence, Azam Khan said all “these allegations are based on what I heard”.

He said almost of all of the information came from a US national, but he again did not name the individual.
