Information Minister Pervez Rasheed on Sunday advised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan not to politicise drone attacks issue.
To Imran’s statement about the prime minister and drone attacks issue, Rasheed said the government had cleared its viewpoint in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and also placed before the US administration during Nawaz Sharif’s visit.
Rasheed said that it was good sign that UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and International community had condemned drone attacks.
He said the federal government was capable of dealing with any kind of situation and it did not need dictation of anyone in this regard.
The minister said Nawaz pressed the US administration to stop drone strikes. He said the government had decreased unneeded expanses, ended secret and discretionary funds, 30 percent decrease in public expanses and 50 percent cut in budget of the Prime Minister’s House.
Rasheed said the PM in his US visit was accompanied by a limited delegation to reduce additional burden on national exchequer.
He said Imran Khan, instead of spending his time in advising others, should pay heed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) where the PTI was in power.
The minister said the PML-N believed in taking steps instead of making tall claims, lip services and hollow slogans.
