Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Dost Muhammad Khan has said missing persons issue could not be resolved until parliament takes action over it.
He said this during the hearing of a case regarding missing persons on Thursday.
Additional Attorney General Attique Shah appeared before the bench. He pleaded the court for awarding one-month time to gather the details regarding missing persons. The court granted one month time with advice that it is the last warning for the federal and provincial governments.
Justice Khan directed the federal and provincial governments and officials of intelligence agencies for investigation and shifting the people against which they have solid evidences to special centres.
He said that it was a matter of grave concern that parliament and the government were silent spectators. Entire burden was shifted on the courts due to fear which was act of ignominy, he added.
