A man, giving up to his failure to make the ends meet, killed his wife and later committed suicide on Friday.
Reportedly, Asghar, 40, a resident of Awami Colony, Kot Lakhpat, was stressed over unemployment. He stabbed his wife Asiya and later hung himself with the ceiling fan.
The couple’s daughter Taiba, 8, who witnessed the incident, told the police that her father was depressed for the last few years and time and again threatened to commit suicide. The couple is survived by three children.
The police have shifted the dead bodies to the morgue for further investigation.

Two members of a robber’s gang were arrested by the Nishtar Colony police on Friday.
A police team led by ASP Kahna Syed Qarar Hussain arrested Laeeq Ahmad and Arslan when they were fleeing after injuring a shopkeeper Abdul Razzaq and snatching Rs 36,000 and a mobile phone from him. During interrogation, the arrested criminals confessed a number of other robberies in the city.
