India on Friday said it was hopeful of an expeditious trial in Pakistan against those involved in the 26/11 terror attack and action against Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed after the US grilled Islamabad over the Mumbai attack trial.
“We are hopeful that President Barack Obama’s tough talking to Nawaz Sharif will have impact on the ground. It will help in expediting the trial and proceed against Hafiz Saeed,” Indian Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde told reporters here when asked to comment on Nawaz’ meeting with Obama on Wednesday.
Asked about the current location of Dawood Ibrahim, Shinde said India’s most wanted terrorist and key accused in 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai was now staying in Pakistan.
“Our talks with the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) is on and we are hopeful that with America’s help, we will get him back in India soon,” he said.
