The Pakistan Protection Ordinance (PPO) 2013 was challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday.
Petitioner ex-DIG Salimullah has prayed in his application that the ordinance had curtailed judicial powers. The petitioner also stated that under this ordinance the high court is not allowed to question unlawful detention of anyone, and a person failing to identify himself could not get bail.
Later, IHC Justice Riaz Ahmed forwarded the petition to the IHC chief justice and requested him to form a larger bench in this regard.
