Lahore High Court (LHC) Complaint Cell has directed Toba Tek Singh district and sessions judge to send a fresh report on submission of police report to trial court within a week on an acid attack on a man and his second wife. Altaf had married Azra Bibi but Shaheen Bibi, his first wife, along with her accomplice threw acid on him and his second wife. The couple received severe burn injuries and were shifted to hospital. After cognizance of LHC Complaint Cell on administrative side, the D&SJ submitted that police had registered a case against the accused and arrested Shaheen and Bilal whereas one accused was on pre-arrest bail. He pointed out that the statements of witnesses had been recorded and the SHO concerned as well as investigation officer were directed to complete the investigation as soon as possible, prepare a report and submit it in court. The Complaint Cell has directed the D&SJ to immediately comply with the order of submission of a latest police report in a week so that justice could be provided to the family.
