Mortar fire from Afghanistan injures three Pakistani soldiers

Mortar shelling from across the border in Afghanistan on a Pakistani checkpost injured three Frontier Constabulary (FC) soldiers on Tuesday.

Officials said the incident took place in Sarakai area of FATA’s Bajaur Agency, bordering Afghanistan.

“Three mortar shells were fired from the Afghan side on Tuesday evening and one of them landed on a Pakistani checkpost, injuring three FC soldiers,” sources said.

Officials did not immediately confirm whether the shells were fired by afghan border troops or miscreants battling US-led NATO forces in Afghanistan as well as Pakistani security forces inside tribal areas.
