‘Blackwater using teens for terrorism’

Amna Masud Janjua, chairwoman Defence Human Rights, told the Supreme Court on Tuesday Blackwater and other agencies were using teens in terrorism.
She also told a two-member bench, “Blackwater and other agencies were picking up boys with ages between 14 and 18 and using them in terrorism. These boys are brainwashed.
Justice Saqib Nisar said no one should remain under any delusion, the court would bring the missing persons case to its logic end.
He gave these remarks while presiding over a two-member bench during the hearing of the missing persons’ case regarding Zahir Muzaffar and Hafiz Jamil on Tuesday.
He also said the missing persons cases were not being disposed of. The Defence and Interior ministries should present their reports reflecting their clear stance before the court. These are the matters of basic importance and these cannot be left in anyway. Intelligence agencies are entitled to initiate proceedings as per law and constitution.
Additional Attorney General (AAG) Tariq Khokhar told the court, while presenting the report, “Hafiz Muhammad Jamil has been traced out but it has not become known he is detained in which detention centre.”
The court directed him to inform it within two weeks about his whereabouts. If he does not give reply then defence secretary and interior secretary will be summoned, court said.
Rejecting the plea for disposing of Zahir Muzaffar case, the court remarked investigation would continue until the recovery of Zahir Muzaffar.
Amna Masud Janjua, chairwoman Defence Human Rights, said that foreign intelligence agencies were also behind the forced disappearances. She said, “Blackwater and other agencies were picking up boys with ages between 14 and 18 and using them in terrorism. These boys are brainwashed. If our intelligence agencies are doing any work in this regard then they can evolve strategy to deal with this situation. If the foreign agencies are not involved even then our intelligence agencies can explain the situation.”
The court remarked, “We are not putting to end the investigations. We will not rest till the recovery of missing persons.”
Police also presented reports during the hearing of the case. The court directed the police to submit a comprehensive report with reference to missing persons.
The court adjourned the hearing for two weeks.
