Five people dead in train explosion

Five people were killed during an explosion on a Quetta bound train on Monday.

Provincial Home Secretary, Asad Gilani said that the incident was a targeted bomb blast meant to injure the passengers on board.

At least 17 people were severely injured in the blast. The injured were taken to Dera Murad Jamali for treatment.

The blast occurred near the Notal area of Balochistan and damaged two carriages of the Jaffar Express train while it was en route to Quetta from Rawalpindi.

The device was planted along the track. Other trains headed on the same route have been delayed.
