Afghanistan has refused to release Pakistani prisoners languishing in various jails of the country.
According to media reports, the Afghan presidential spokesperson, in a statement, said President Hamid Karzai had made no assurance to release Pakistani prisoners, rather the Afghan president had rejected the demand outright.
JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman upon his return from a trip to Afghanistan had told the media that the Afghan president had assured him that all Pakistani prisoners would be released.
According to the Afghan media, more than 2,000 prisoners are currently languishing in Afghan jails.
