LoC violation: Woman injured by unprovoked Indian firing

India on Tuesday again violated ceasefire protocol along the Line of Control (LoC) by opening unprovoked firing at civilian population in Nakyal Sector of Kotli district of Azad jammu and Kashmir, leaving a woman injured.

Nakyal Assistant Commissioner Chaudhry Muhammad Ayub said a woman was injured when India troops opened unprovoked firing at Datot village.

Pakistani troops responded to the unprovoked firing by Indian forces across the LoC and silenced enemy guns.

According to military sources, Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing in Kotli’s Nakyal Sector along LoC in a blatant as well as repeated violation of ceasefire agreement between both countries.

The sources further said that Pakistan’s tit-for-tat retaliation forced the enemy to retreat to its bunkers.

Pakistan and India agreed to a ceasefire along the LoC in November 2003, but both sides frequently trade allegations against each other for having violated the agreement.
