JI MNA wants serious talks with Taliban

Member National Assembly and JI leader Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqub has urged the government to initiate serious talks with the Taliban for restoration of peace in the region.

Talking to media, Sahibzada Yaqub said his party would support the government’s peace overtures if it were followed with sincerity with the militant outfits in order to avoid more bloodshed in the country. He said negotiation was the best option to settle the problem of militancy.

To a question, the JI MNA said Wapda had approved construction of a grid station at Jandul area of Lower Dir District and land had been specified for the project as well. He said another grid station would also be constructed in Maidan area of the district which would certainly overcome problem of load shedding and low voltage.

He said the damaged transformers would be rectified at the Wapda workshop soon. He also complained about lack of funds to meet the development needs of the district. Efforts were underway to provide female staff to the passport office in Malakand Division, he further commented.
