Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said new anti-terror legal amendments were the first step in dealing with extortionists, target killers and terrorists.
“Fear of a strong law will deter these brutal acts,” the prime minister said in a meeting with Information Minister Parvaiz Rasheed at the PM’s House.
Nawaz said, “We must ensure that our law enforcement agencies are supported by in-built and stringent legal measures.”
He said any gaps in the existing laws were being removed.
“I will support all lawful actions of our law enforcement agencies to protect the life and liberty of the people of Pakistan,” he said.
