The mystery behind the killings of Brigadier (r) Sikandar Malik and his family was solved on Monday when his son confessed to the murders, a private TV channel reported. A confessional statement from the son, Captain Haider Ali, read that he had fed his family intoxicating pills first before shooting them. His two sisters were reportedly asleep when they were killed. The accused claimed that his family was opposed to his marrying by choice. The four bodies were sent to CMH Rawalpindi for medical and legal proceedings. The police had conducted a forensic examination of the crime scene and reviewed the mobile phone data of the victims. They had found four shell casings of 22mm caliber bullets. It was earlier been reported that Haider was not in the house when the crimes were committed. The family hailed from Sialkot and was living in the residential colony of Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital. Dr Malik was the principal of Yusra Medical and Dental College in Soan, Rawalpindi.
