An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi rejected a request to remove former dictator Pervez Musharraf’s name from the Benazir Bhutto murder case.

A hearing in this regard was held Tuesday during which Advocate Akhtar Shah made the request to discharge Musharraf’s name.

After listening to his arguments, the court rejected the plea as inadmissible.

The court also dismissed Shah’s request to become a party and a witness in the case, saying he was politically affiliated.

Furthermore, the anti-terrorism court accepted a request for a new trial of the case, which is to begin on October 22, and has also summoned three witnesses for the trial.
