Sanam Saeed can now be seen in another drama titled ‘Ek Kasak Reh Gayee’. Here, she plays Paras, a girl who has a good head on her shoulders like Kashaf from ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ but is thankfully not as negative as the latter. Paras works in an NGO and lives at her uncle’s house alongwith her sister. The uncle I am writing about is not a new character, we have all come across such people at least once in our lives. Javed Shaikh plays this role of a religious extremist who condemns college education, girls having careers, weddings taking place in marriage halls and every other imaginable thing in society. He wants to contain Paras and her sister at home but the girls don’t really take to heart what their uncle says. Paras is close to Bia (Hina Khawaja Bayat) who is her boss, mentor, guide and a friend. She seeks inspiration from her and aspires to become like her despite her uncle’s displeasure. Although the story seems interesting, there is a morbid darkness about the drama that is extremely depressing.
