Several areas of Gaggoo Mandi remained in the grip of tension amid protests against the murder of two persons. The protesters blocked the roads and held a demonstration against police authorities for failing to nab the culprits and provide protection to public lives and property. They also chanted slogans against police authorities, provincial government, pelted stones at the police station and tortured two cops. The police attempted to disperse the enraged protesters by firing tear gas shells and baton charged them. All the markets, offices and other institutions located in the said area remained shut due to the protest.
