Arshad Pappu case adjourned … again

Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday rejected a petition filed by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA Shahjehan Baloch for his bail in Arshad Pappu murder case.

He was arrested in connection to the murder of gangster Arshad Pappu.

ATC Judge Khalida Yaseen was hearing the case. During the hearing, the accused Shahjehan Baloch, Zubair Baloch, ex-inspector Yousuf and former SHO Javed, Abdul Rehman and Zakir Dada were produced before the ATC judge.

The judge said that bail was not an option until witnesses recorded their statements. The court rejected the bail petition and sent all the accused to jail. The hearing was subsequently adjourned.  Alleged Lyari gangster Arshad Pappu, his brother, Yasir Arafat, and their confidant, Juma Shera, were killed on March 16, 2013.

According to the FIR registered on the complaint of Arshad Pappu’s widow, the victims were killed after being subjected to torture and the bodies of her husband and his brother were thrown into drains in Kalakot locality after being mutilated and alleged that the offence was committed at the behest of Shehjahan Baloch.
