Weekly SPI swells by 0.20 percent

Pakistan Bureau of Statistic revealed that the weekly inflation, measured by the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) is increased slightly by 0.20 per cent for the week ending on Oct 03.

The figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), weekly inflation for the income group earning up to Rs 8,000 per month has increased by 0.06 percent as compared to the previous week.

The SPI for income group earning between Rs. 8,001 and Rs. 12,000 per month witnessed an increased by 0.08 percent, and the SPI for the mid-level income group earning Rs 12,001 to Rs 18,000 per month swelled to 0.10 percent as compared to the previous week.

The SPI data shows an increase of 0.17 percent in the upper mid-level earning Rs 18,001 to Rs 35,000 per month. Weekly inflation for income group earning above Rs 35,000 showed increases up to 0.33 percent.

The data further showed that the average price of eighteen items including, Diesel, petrol, potatoes, sugar, chicken live, kerosene oil, Moong pulse washed, beef, wheat, onion, wheat flour bag, Masoor Pulse washed, mutton, milk powered NIDO, Rice IRRI etc. increased during the week ended on Oct 03.

The average price of nine items including tomatoes, LPG, tea, Garlic, Gur, Gram pulse washed, Red Chilies powered loose, Bananas and Egg hen live have decreased.

PBS further revealed that rice Basmati broken, bread plain, milk fresh, curd, mustard oil, cooking oil, veg ghee, cooked Beef plate, cooked Dal Plate, a tea prepared, cigarettes, long cloth, electric charges, energy savors 14 watts and washing soap etc. remained unchanged.
