One policeman was killed and another two were injured in separate incidents of violence in Charsada and Peshawar on Friday.
Officials said unidentified men opened indiscriminate firing on a police constable in Ghunda Karkana village in Charsada district. As a result of the indiscriminate firing, constable Sajjad Khan was killed on the spot.
In Peshawar, the militants attacked a police mobile vehicle with an improvised explosive devise (IED) in Pishtakhara area on Bara Road.
The vehicle was destroyed and two policemen were injured.
In a bid to foil any untoward incident in Peshawar and its surrounding areas, there is tight security at all entry points to all markets in the city.
