Retired brigadier, family gunned down in Rawalpindi

 

 

 

Unidentified gunmen killed retired Brigadier Sikander Malik, his wife and two daughters Rawalpindi’s in Gulistan Colony area on Tuesday.

The brigadier’s son survived the attack as he was not at home when it occurred.

The two daughters were reportedly asleep when they were killed.

An investigation is underway and the forensic lab has been called to take fingerprints from the scene.

The bodies have been sent to Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi.

Sikandar, was working in a private medical university after retirement.

Police said the bodies of Brig (r) Dr Sikandar Malik, his wife Shahida and daughters Fatima and Zenab were found in the house located in Rawalpindi’s Gulistan Colony within the limits of Morgah police station.

Officials said all the deceased were shot dead; however, the motive behind the mysterious murder could not be ascertained immediately.

“The lone survivor, the slain brigadier’s son, is in a shock and unable to give the account of the incident,” police officials said.
