Unknown killers murdered a family consisting of a middle-aged couple and their two daughters in Rawalpindi, officials said on Tuesday.

The father of the house, Sikandar, has been identified as a former army officer currently working in a private medical university and hospital.

Police said the bodies of Brig. (retd) Dr. Sikandar Malik, his wife Shahida, and his two daughters Fatima and Zenab were found in their house located in Rawalpindi’s Gulistan Colony within the remits of Morgah police station.

Officials said all the deceased were shot dead; however, motive behind the mysterious murders could not be ascertained immediately.

Police cordoned off the area and collected evidences from the site.

Son of the slain, Sikandar Haider Ali, however, was found alive by the law enforcement agencies.

“The boy is under shock and unable to give the account of the incident”, the police officials said.

  1. There is absolutely no law in this country. The law enforcement agencies are incompetent and do not posses the technology to prevent these types of crimes. Anyone can be killed and no one will ever be caught.

    • anywhere in the world, there is no murder prevention technology! However there is "technology" called courts who actually punish such criminals to set example and unfortunately our justice system only give media interviews not justice!

  2. Brig Sikandar Was a Nobel man, in fact a living legend and an angel. MAY ALLAH HIM AND HIS FAMILY.

  3. A great teacher, a great doctor and a great person. I was struck with grief and sorrow the moment i heard that dr sikander has been gunned down so brutally and mercilessly along with his wife and two daughters who for sure were innocent. When i listened to the news and read the newspaper and heard from here and there, many questions bombarded my mind at once. Firstly, how did the murderers manage to gain accesss to his house that is located in such a sensitive area within the premisis of al shifa eye trust? this shows the level and type of security it exhibits. Secondly, the bodies of deceased showed no signs of resistance and lab reports indicated that the doctor and his family might have been first anesthetised and then shot. This shows that the guyz were trained and they had a well plan to do so. Thirdly, everything at home was intact and acccording to police there is a weak evidence that it might be a case of robbery. This shows that the family was merely 'targeted'. And last but not the least he was a notable shia. In short, a thorough investigation should be carried out. I can only wish that investigation may lead to the reality and that must be exposed.

    • I never the gentleman and did not anything about him but if your version is correct, shame on me and all of my countrymen. This makes me feel alienated and difficult to find words.I am so saddened by your loss.

  5. The deceased seems to have been drugged and then killed. Who had the motivation, opportunity and capability to do so inside a locked house?
