Former president Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned as “most barbaric, inhuman and reflecting the depraved mind of the militants” the bomb blast in Peshawar resulting in the death of over 30 people and injuries many more.

Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said the former president was shocked and grieved beyond measure over this latest act of barbarity of the militants and called for a collective national response to uproot the extremists from our midst.

He quoted Zardari as saying that the wages of appeasing the militants by asking for setting up their offices in the country were more than obvious and it was time that the nation and the state rose to give a befitting reply to them. Dithering and procrastination on our part would only further embolden the militants, he said.

The former president asked the party workers to extend all possible material and moral support to the victims in their rehabilitation. Asif Ali Zardari also offered his deepest condolences to the bereaved families, prayed for eternal peace to those who lost their lives and speedy recovery to those injured in this senseless mayhem.
