As the local bodies polls are nearing fast, the Opposition in the province has started to get its acts together. Leaders of the PTI and the PML-Q are due to meet on coming Monday with upcoming local government elections on the top of their agenda.
The meeting is taking place on the request of PTI’s provincial leadership. Sources disclosed that Ch Ejaz, PTI’s provincial president, will meet his counterpart from the PML (Q), Pervaiz Elahi, at the later’s residence in Gulberg. He will be accompanied by other provincial leaders.
This is the latest move on the part of PTI after its top leader Imran Khan visited the city the other day and held meetings with party leaders to discuss local bodies’ polls.
Sources revealed that leaders from both the sides would exchange views on various issues regarding the local bodies elections including delimitation of constituencies and holding of elections on party basis. The leaders are also likely to come up with a common response on these issues.
