LHC takes notice of woman’s kidnapping

The Lahore High Court on Saturday took notice on a news item published in a section of press regarding kidnapping and gang-rape of a woman in suburban area of Satiyana.

The District & Sessions Judge, Faisalabad, has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the border military police along with his own comments.

According to details, a nomad, Shama, resident of village Dera 277/GB told Rodala Road police that her wife was going to a nearby village to sell bangles when accused Tariq and Abid abducted her. They took her in the sugarcane fields where 11 culprits including Riasat, Sadri, Abid, Tariq, Amir, Imran and Allah Rakha molested her and fled the scene leaving her her unconscious. Police registered against the nominated accused and started investigation.

The LHC complaint cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report within a week.
