Another powerful quake measuring 7.2 magnitude on the Richter scale was felt in Balochistan’s earthquake-hit Awaran district on Saturday noon where Tuesday’s powerful tremor left nearly 400 people dead and thousands homeless.
However US Geological Survey says the magnitude was recorded to be 6.8.

Saturday’s quake started at 12:34 pm and lasted for 15 to 20 seconds, it was so powerful that was felt in Quetta, Khuzdar, Gawadar, Pasheen, Panjgor and Sibi areas of Balochistan.
The ongoing session of Balochistan Assembly was adjourned for 5 minutes as assembly building in Quetta jolted for several seconds.

Following the tremors, citizens rushed to open spaces fearing for their safety. No loss of life has been reported.
People quickly evacuated buildings and houses, reciting prayers, as intense tremors of magnitude 5.8, lasted for seven to eight seconds and caused great panic among the people.
The Met department has said up to 16 aftershocks have been recorded in areas of Balochistan so far.
