Shortage of air-crafts has led Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to close down 36 international and local flights.
Media reports suggest that PIA is suffering from the threat of privatization therefore it has suspended its 31 international and 5 local flights in a week. 28 flights have been temporarily suspended while 8 are cancelled on a permanent basis.
The suspended flights include 5 flights bound for Abu Dhabi and Musqat and 8 flights to Dubai. On the other hand, 2 flights bound for Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Kandahar and Zahidan have been suspended permanently.
As far as local flights are concerned, 3 flights to and from Hyderabad and 2 to and from Nawabshah have been also suspended.
A spokesperson of PIA has said that matters regarding flights will improve after the Hajj Operation.
