Governor urges women to play role in economic turnover

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has urged the women to play their due role for economic turnaround which would remain a dream without their participation. The governor was speaking at a dinner reception hosted by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in honor of the participants of CIPE Regional Women Training Workshop.
LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar, Vice President Mian Abuzar Shad, CIPE Deputy Director Andrew Wilson, Country Director Moeen Fudda and Aasia Saail Khan, Convener LCCI Committee on Women Entrepreneur Development and Resource Centre also spoke on the occasion.
“If a nation has to prosper and excel, its women have to be empowered. They have to be allowed and authorised to contribute towards the nation building by becoming equal shareholders in driving the nation towards affluence.”
The governor said that LCCI’s joining hands with the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) was not only creating awareness among the women entrepreneurs but also helping them get international exposure.
Sarwar said that the government was well aware of the challenges and was taking all possible measures to promote women entrepreneurship in the country. He said that steps were afoot to ensure women participation in decision-making process at institutional level.
Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar said that the Chamber believed in the progress for women for the progress and prosperity of the country. The LCCI is not only holding seminars, conferences but also arranging training programmes so that maximum number of women could be able to start their businesses and could contribute towards the well-being of the economy. He said that although the present government was focusing more on the development of women entrepreneurs but there was a need that some package of incentives should be announced for women entrepreneurs so that they could be able to go global. Ritu Singh Vaidya, Chhaya Sharma, Rita Bhandary, Selima Ahmad, Gulshan Nassrin Chowdhury, Tania Wahab, Saroshi Dubash, Fathuma Ameena Rezani Aziz, Manju Kalra Prakash, Prem Prakash, Dhanvanthi Mohanlal, Shamama Arab, Farida Rashid, Moin M Fudda, Hammad Siddiqui, Huzaifa Shabbir Hussain, Andrew Wilson, Marc Schleifer, Mona Dave and Wilson Lee also spoke on the occasion.

This Governor needs help.He is ignorant and totally out of line.The women are turning the economy over.Just watch our TV Channels and the number of fashion shows on display even in Pindi Bhatian.With each day you see them adding to the variety that is abhored in majority of our society. I think Mr Sarwar should by now grasp the realities of this alien country.
