The Pakistan Army on Friday warned militant groups not to create hurdles in the ongoing rescue and relief efforts in quake-hit areas of Awaran and other Balochistan districts.
Speaking to reporters, Southern Command Commander Leiutenent-General Nasir Janjua said that the army would reach out to the quake-hit people at any cost.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob said that Awaran has been exempted from power outages and that Karachi has been made a base to despatch relief goods to the affected areas.
“Other provinces are also sending relief items. A C-130 plane filled with relief goods has arrived from Punjab while Sindh has also sent many trucks of medicines,” he said.
