At least three policemen including a Station House Officer (SHO) were injured in a cross firing incident on Wednesday night.
According to details, the police, upon receiving the complaint of citizens approached the two robbers who were busy looting citizens at Bund Road near Taj Company.
The robbers seeing the police mobile van started firing at them. Three police officials including SHO Shafiqabad Rafiullah and constables Gulfam and Mohsin received injuries.
The robbers managed to escape from the scene with the stolen cash, mobiles and other valuables.
The injured cops were shifted to hospital and sources reported that they were shot in the arms and legs but their condition was stable.
SP city Mufaqar Adeel said that two robbers were arrested from the said area earlier and it was feared the robbers who opened fire at police were also the members of same gang.
They will be also nabbed soon, he added.
