The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the membership of MPA Arif Mehmood Gill.
The case regarding the fake degree of the MPA from PP-59, Samundari area in Faisalabad, was heard by a three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, and comprising Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed.
During the hearing, the bench observed that Gill failed to prove his stance regarding his intermediate degree.
Justice Chaudhry remarked that why not contempt of case notice should be issued to Gill for giving false statement. The court directed Gill to appear before the bench on September 30 with all original documents.
Gill’s intermediate degree was challenged by Muhammad Younus.
