Nawaz, Tunisian President agree to deepen relations in trade, education, S&T and defence

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met the president of Tunisia, Mohamed Moncef Marzouki on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting the prime minister welcomed the transition of Tunisia from a single-party to multi-party political system and lauded the first free multi-party elections in Tunisia in October 2011.

He said Pakistan and Tunisia enjoy friendly relations and share common perception on various international issues.

The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and underlined the need to deepen cooperation in trade, education information, S&T, agriculture, judicial, security and defence matters.

They agreed on an early meeting of the Joint Ministerial Commission.

Th meeting with Tunisian leader is of vital and very important.Tunis is a very friendly and Muslim country and Pakistan must extend its full co-operation to strengthen the relationship with Tunisia.Mian Nawaz sharief has done a fantastic and sacred job to have meeting and discussed bilateral relations among these two Islamic countries and we hope Tunisia will also extend its hands of friendship with Pakistan
