Three people were killed and seven others injured on Wednesday when armed men attacked an under-construction dam in Halimzai area of Mohmand Agency.
According to the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR), around a dozen militants attacked the dam site at 1:30 pm and also kidnapped four civilians, including two engineers working on the project.
The attack damaged the dam’s installation as the militants set fire to an excavator and other machinery on the site.
The militants planted an improvised explosive device (IED) on the road leading to the dam, which hit a vehicle transporting labourers, killing two labourers and a contractor.
An official said that earlier, the militants had kidnapped two workers from the site.
As backup personnel began arriving at the dam, the militants blew up their vehicle using an IED.
Security forces reached the site of attack and started a search operation.
