KP govt unearths corruption in mineral dept

Adviser to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ziaullah Afridi on Wednesday said the government has unearthed illegal practices and corruption of millions of rupees in the Mineral Department.
The government had conducted an enquiry and ordered for recovery of Rs 20 crore from those who committed corruption and irregularity.
An immediate suspension of four officials, including then director general of mines and minerals Mian Farooq Iqbal, deputy director Irfanullah, deputy director Roz Amin and deputy director Yaqoob Nawaz have been recommended, he added.
This was disclosed by Afridi during an interaction with media in his office.
