As many as 45 corrupt policemen were sacked from Karachi’s East and South Zone Wednesday.
According to reports, the policemen were involved in receiving extortion and other unethical practices.
The cops were removed as Karachi Police launched crackdown against corrupt policemen.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, said six officials were suspended while 31 others were put on notices.
He said that the policemen were accused of receiving bribes from drug dens. DIG East, Munir Sheikh, said inquiry against 39 policemen was initiated.
