The United States says it remains concerned about the continuing sectarian violence in Pakistan that has brought heartache to Sunnis, Shia, Christians and members of the other communities across the country.
In a statement, state department spokesperson Jen Psaki extended the deepest condolences of the United States to the families and friends of the victims of a heinous attack on a church in Peshawar on Sunday. She wished for those that were injured, a full and speedy recovery.
The spokesperson expressed that the United States joins the Pakistani and the world leaders in condemning this brutality and to support Pakistan’s efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
She said extremist violence against innocent Pakistani men, women, and children of any faith is an assault on the universal human values.
